Hi, I'm Alana Rivera, founder and creator of purpose driven natural small batch body care company Etta + Billie.

How did all this get started? Well, I stumbled into the world of natural body care while working a corporate job that left me feeling lost. After receiving a book on soapmaking from my mom, I dove head first into researching ingredients and whipping up recipes. Batch after batch, inspiration came from my passion: food. Lavender shortbread became Lavender Soap. Coffee with fresh mint became Cold Brew Mint Coffee Scrub. Cardamom Old Fashioned became Grapefruit Cardamom Body Oil.

With all the research, I discovered how many cheap filler ingredients found in conventional products could be replaced by natural ones. Choosing these ingredients not only created a better product but it also had a positive impact on the environment.

While I was working away in my kitchen, the financial crash of 2008 happened. Living in San Francisco, I saw how many people were struggling. People lost jobs and homes and so many folks had to rely on food banks and other non-profit organizations to feed themselves and their families.

I knew I had to do something. So, in 2009, I launched Etta + Billie. I'm on a mission to elevate your daily self-care routine while ending hunger in the USA. How?

Etta + Billie body care is formulated with food-centric organic ingredients and delectable essential oils that nourish your skin and your senses with minimal impact on the environment. I believe that organic and natural ingredients are better for our skin, our farmers and our planet. That's why you'll never find artificial colors, scents, parabens, or phthalates in anything I create. In fact, my company has been Certified Green in the State of California since 2011.

Etta + Billie donates a 1% of our profits to local food banks and human rights organizations because no one should feel the pangs of hunger on inequity in one of the richest countries in the world.

As of March 2024, the majority of our products have been retired BUT soaps are available a few times a year during limited edition releases. If you are looking for private label or custom soap, please contact us here.
